PUPPY HEAD START
These are
social
enrichment sessions for puppies over eight weeks of age and under
five months of age. Take advantage of the most critical development stage
for your puppy. We will expose them to a variety of sounds, scents and
situations to prepare them for life.
Body handling and basic canine
learning principles will be covered as well as numerous other
puppy
related subjects.
This program will help to build a solid foundation for
all other training you & your pup will do.

PUPPY 1
Socialization to dogs & people is the main
focus.
Also included are basic manners and obedience for pups
under five months (20 weeks) of age.
Bite Inhibition, House Training, Loose Leash Walking, Sit, Down, Stand,
Come, Stay.
Prevention of common behaviors such as Barking, Digging, Chewing,
Jumping Up.
Tips on toys, health & nutrition. Most of this class is taught off
leash.
Includes supervised off leash play sessions
Prerequisite: Pups must be under 20 weeks of age
when the class starts

PUPPY 2
Increasing
the fluency of skills learned in Puppy 1.
We will start adding distance, duration and distractions.
Focus on socialization to dogs & people will continue.
We will try to arrange a field trip to help you transfer
classroom skills to the real world.
Some of this class is taught off
leash.
Includes supervised off leash play sessions

Are you interested in a fun way to
interact with your dog? Does your dog need a job?
Tracking and nose work is a great way to keep a dog's mind and body busy
without increasing arousal levels [important if you happen to have a
reactive dog].
Whether you plan to track for fun or competition, this class will
provide you with the basic skills needed. We will discuss scent
theory and dog's scenting ability as well as help get you started on
tracking and some fun nose games.
The first class will be held at
the View Royal Community Hall and the remainder will
take place in the
community in all types of weather.
Dogs should have basic obedience.
Equipment requirements will be discussed at the first session.
Maximum of six dogs - puppies are welcome to attend too!

CANINE GOOD NEIGHBOUR
TEST PREPARATION
The test is
non-competitive and allows dog and handler to demonstrate confidence and
control in 12 steps. It assesses the handler and dog's relationship,
together with the handler's ability to control the dog. Dogs are
evaluated on their ability to perform basic exercises as well as their
ability to demonstrate good manners in everyday situations.

This class will help you
prepare for the Canine Good Neighbour test. We will guide you and your
dog through the 12 steps and offer assistance and feedback on areas you
need to practice.
The final class will be a Canine Good Neighbour fun test.
